What  is the MOSCDC? 

The MOSCDC is primarily a social group of Marine Corps spouses,however, spouses of other U.S. Military officers can also join.  We do some charitable work, but most of our events are focused on socializing with other military spouses and touring local D.C. area attractions.

What sort of events does the MOSCDC host? 

Some of our past events include a tour of the White House,  Mt. Vernon,  the National Cathedral,  various international embassies, and the U. S. Naval Academy just to name a few.  Most of our events are during the week and include a catered lunch. 

Each fall we host a Welcome Aboard Luncheon at the home of the USMC Commandant and we invite all Marine Corps spouses to attend and join our club.

Once a year, we help host the Joint Armed Forces Officers’ Wives’ Luncheon.  (JAFOWL)  It is a very popular event and all MOSCDC members are invited. Some of the past speakers at the JAFOWL have been President Bush, General Peter Pace,  Lynne Cheney, and Naomi Judd.

Do I have to be a member to attend MOSCDC events?

Most of our events are exclusively for MOSCDC members.  Many events allow members to bring guests. 

The fall Welcome Aboard Luncheon is open to all Marine Corps Spouses.  We use this event to reach new Marine Corps spouses in the area. We sincerely hope you attend and join! 

 Why should I join?

The MOSCDC is a wonderful way for you to get out and experience the sights of D.C. with other Marine Corps Spouses. Your $25 membership fee helps keep the club operating. We maintain a website (ww.moscdc.org), distribute a newsletter, and publish a yearly membership directory.  We also donate some funds to military affiliated charities.

Do you need volunteers?

Yes,  there are 5 elected board positions and approximately 18 appointed board positions.   We are always looking for more board members.  Volunteers are never turned away.

The MOSCDC is a great way to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
