In 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower – away on vacation – was urgently needed back at the White House. What would have been a two-hour motorcade trip was reduced to a seven-minute helicopter ride courtesy of Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1). On that day, HMX-1 earned its most prestigious of missions – direct support of the President of the United States.

During this exclusive tour of the hangar and aircraft used by the President and Vice President, you'll experience:

  • Introductory video in the HMX-1 ready room that covers the history and mission of HMX-1 followed by Q and A time
  • Tour of the cage hangar where you'll view the "White Top Fleet" of aircraft used to transport the President of the United States
  • Inside look at HMX-1 "White Top" and MV-22 Osprey (Pending Availability)
  • Visit to the HMX-1 Gift Shop where Members can purchase exclusive HMX-1 memorabilia (cash or check only)
  • Parking will be prearranged for MOSCDC members attending and email will be sent with directions prior to the event

Please note: Unfortunately, security protocol prohibits any non-US Citizens from entering the facility.

Social Security Number and Documentation Requirement: For security reasons, Marine Helicopter Squadron One requires each visitor to provide his or her Social Security Number. Participants are also required to upload a photo of their passport or birth certificate at the time of registration. This is the request of HMX-1 and not MOSCDC.

R.S.V.P.: Kindly register for your spot and provide all required information to MOSCDC by Thursday, March 12th, 2026.
