In 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower – away on vacation – was urgently needed back at the White House. What would have been a two-hour motorcade trip was reduced to a seven-minute helicopter ride courtesy of Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1). On that day, HMX-1 earned its most prestigious of missions – direct support of the President of the United States.

Please note: Unfortunately, security protocol prohibits any non-US Citizens from entering the facility. Social Security Number and Documentation Requirement: For security reasons, Marine Helicopter Squadron One requires each visitor to provide his or her Social Security Number. Participants are also required to upload a photo of their passport or birth certificate at the time of registration. This is the request of HMX-1 and not MOSCDC.
